RUSH Guitarist Raises Money For Kidney Foundation Of Canada
November 10, 2008For the third consecutive year, RUSH guitarist Alex Lifeson auctioned one of his original paintings on eBay to support The Kidney Foundation of Canada. The winning bid was $1,225. Lifeson stated regarding the painting, "It was painted from a photo I'd taken at a friend's cottage in Muskoka looking out at Georgian Bay at dusk during the summer of 2006. The painting is done in acrylic and I used a sheet of paper towel fixed to the board to add texture."
Lifeson, along with a number of other Canadian celebrities, created paintings to help bring attention to the crisis surrounding kidney disease and kidney-related illness, not only in Canada, but around the globe. All funds raised through the sale of these paintings will be used by The Kidney Foundation to fund innovative research so that we can reduce the burden of kidney disease.
